MYSTIKA has a variety of uses in both rock and powder forms

Chios Mastiha has a distinct natural earthy aroma and flavour which sets it aside other spices and condiments. Both it’s versatility along with it’s benefits is why it has been used for centuries in a variety of ways including foods, desserts, toothpastes, beauty products and more.

A few tips before we get started…

If you plan to use mastiha rocks in a blender or food processor, put them in the freezer for a few hours prior because it’s gluey and sticky in nature when warm.

In addition take care when heating on it’s own as it can stick to cooking utensils and can be difficult to then remove.

Just Chew it

Chios Mastiha was the world’s first chewing gum and its completely natural without any additives or complicated chemicals that you don’t understnad. Mystika can be chewed when at room temperature - if its too cold then it will be too brittle and hard to chew. Chios Mastiha has been scientifically proven to reduce oral bacteria - so chewing it is good for your oral health.

It doesn’t just mask bad breath - it gets rid of it!

Caution: Just be careful not to chew the rocks when they’re cold as this will make them hard and they might bother your teeth.

Please be sure not to swallow as with all gum products.

Dilute it in a Drink

Mystika can be diluted in hot drinks to add some of that distinct Mastiha flavour. Both rocks and powder can be used but the powder is more easily diluted in hot drinks.

If you want to use mystika in a cold drink - the rocks can easily be used to flavour water - we suggest leaving 10g in a litre of water overnight.
